Have you ever heard: ‘It’s good luck to have rain on your wedding day'?

I have and just always assumed it was a way to calm the brides nerves down on their wedding day because for the most part rain isn’t usually something you want on the happiest day of your life. (My husband on the other hand loves rain and would have enjoyed it! But that’s besides the point. Just remember if you like rain that’s cool too! You do you and that will make this next part more special!)

It’s good luck to have rain on your wedding day! But why?

Well when you’re married people use the term: Tying the Knot.

Two lives joining together to make make something stronger using both of their combined forces.

The thing about knots is that when it rains on one, that knot becomes tighter. Usually a knot that’s been rained on is nearly impossible to pull apart which is one reason why sailors knots are so strong.

That means this new marriage is now tighter than ever by having rain on the wedding day.

So there you have it! If it rained on your wedding that’s a good thing! If it rains on your friends wedding now you can pass along this little bit of encouragement!
