Is it time to start the wedding planning process? Woo hoo! One of the first steps in planning is deciding where. Here is a little sneak peek of my 5 favorite Venues in the Sauk Valley!

This small town girl is blessed to be from an area with some incredible venues that have been featured in national wedding blogs and magazines! I mean what more could a photographer ask for? So let me share some insider scoop from someone who has been to more than 1 wedding in each of these places.

The Post House Ballroom in Dixon IL. This venue used to be the actual Post Office in Dixon nearly 100 years ago. This ballroom is nothing like a modern office building. This beautiful place has marble floors, giant crystal chandeliers and huge windows that let in so much dreamy natural light. They can host up to 200 guests and hold both ceremony along with your reception. This venue is an all indoor location.

The Dillon Home Museum in Sterling IL. Another historical venue. The Dillon family owned a steel mill in the area that brought in much of the revenue to the area. As the original family moved out of this house they donated it to the town as a museum. Another incredible option to this site is its use as a wedding venue. The grounds are filled with beautiful flower gardens and a large fountain. Lots of space for a big outdoor ceremony with the option of a tented reception.

Barnacopia in Polo IL. The story behind this rustic venue is absolutely charming. A retired farmer and his wife spent years collecting antique tractors, cars and other farm themed relics. After the building was completed their grandson asked to use this family heirloom for his wedding and this venue was born! With 3 levels of fun you can hold around 250 guests for your ceremony and reception with a couple rooms host a few guests after the event.

Lincoln Way B&B in Franklin Grove IL. A woman with a dream birthed into reality! Lisa over at Lincoln Way went to work with her husband restoring the nearly 200 year old B&B to its former glory and then some! A space this beautiful had to be shared and now they also host weddings. This is an outdoor venue with the benefit of multiple rooms for getting ready in or staying the weekend. They have a new pergola to shade your ceremony, a stunning stone outdoor fireplace, and privacy walls so that even though you’re in the middle of town they make you feel like you’re hidden away in the forest.

McCormick Event Center in Rock Falls IL. This brand new venue is also the largest indoor venue in the Sauk Valley! With multiple rooms for ceremony and reception right off the riverfront. They offer onsite catering and bar service. And are right next to hotels for out of town guests.

This is just a tiny glimpse into my favorite venues! In person they have so much more story and character Im sure you will fall in love with. Let this little sneak peek to these amazing venues be used to strike your interest to help you find the perfect venue!

Happy wedding planning girl! You got this!
